There have been many different schools of thought on this question. My thoughts are that you burn this candle as much or as little as you would like. I have thoroughly tested these candles to be safe during its entire lifespan. You may need to blow out your candle after a few hours and trim the wick or you could get sooting or as we call it a "torch". you definitely do not want a torch. If you notice some soot along the sides of the vessel, just use a damp cloth with some dish soap and it will come right off. But, this is a tell tale sign that you may have burned the candle too long and to give it a break then light it again at a later time.
I personally let my candles burn as long as it is bringing me joy! Some days it is a few hours other days is a shorter duration. As long as you are keeping the wick trimmed all will be great.
